Vint'g Panasonic WV-D5000 Assembled Four-Part Studio TV System (See Description)

Sale price  $44.95 Regular price $66.99
This complete assembly was exclusively used in a TV studio, mounted vertically on a stand, for inserting photos into video presentations. May be a little dusty but, otherwise kept in a clean, protected storage room since 1988. Has not used or tested since. A great find and buy.

1) Vintage Camera Model WV-D5000 1986 model. Made in Japan

2) Genuine Vintage Panasonic RCU Adaptor Model WV-AD37 S/N 6XZ00462 made in Japan.

👉 The Panasonic RCU Adaptor Model WV-AD37 is a studio remote control unit (RCU) adaptor designed for use with specific Panasonic cameras, particularly those in the WV-F15 series. It essentially acts as a "back-end" that attaches to the camera, enabling remote control and some power delivery functions.

👉 Here's what you need to know about the WV-AD37:

  • Function: It allows for remote control of camera functions via a connected RCU. This typically includes control over settings like iris, black level (pedestal), and perhaps other video adjustments.
  • Connection: The WV-AD37 uses a unique 14-pin connector, similar in physical appearance to a K connector but with different pin assignments. Panasonic used this same connector and cable design (14C-30 and 14C-100 cables) for various cameras, but the specific pin functions varied, meaning equipment with this connector isn't necessarily interchangeable.
  • Tally and Control Signals: The WV-AD37 appears to be involved in the camera's tally light system, possibly activating the tally lights when an RCU is connected. Some control signals, including tally, are reportedly time-multiplexed through this connector, meaning they are transmitted sequentially rather than via dedicated wires.
  • Color Bars: The WV-AD37 also incorporates a color bar generator. This is used for aligning the camera's output to match the color bars generated within the adaptor itself, especially when genlocking.
  • Compatibility: While the WV-AD37 is associated with cameras like the WV-F15, it may be compatible with other Panasonic cameras that utilize the same 14-pin connector and control system.

👉 Potential Uses and Considerations:

  • Studio Environments: The WV-AD37 is primarily designed for use in studio or multi-camera setups where remote control of camera parameters is necessary.
  • Phasing: The built-in color bar generator and alignment process are crucial for ensuring the proper phasing of the camera's output signal, especially when genlocking to an external source.

3) Vintage Panasonic TV Zoom Lens Model JM1.6-12x MGH

4) Vintage Tiffen 72mm Close-Up +2 Polarizer lens Made in USA. With hood and lens cap.

The Tiffen 72mm Polarizer Lens is for use in achieving macro-like results with almost any lens you pair them with. Close-up lenses are essentially diopters that you place over your lens in order to lessen the minimum focus distance by the amount specified on the filter. You can combine the filters together to increase their strength and to fine tune your close-up settings.

These filters are constructed from premium ColorCore glass for optical clarity and feature an aluminum filter ring with dual threads for ease when combining with other filters.

These filters decrease the minimum focus distance of any lens, providing macro-like results.

Dual threading permits you to combine the filters together or pair with other types of filters.
